Wicked problem Project: Part C- Implementation

I think it is great how you used two different activities for students to try out. The idea of students using a wand to navigate and move around seems like a lot of fun. Did you have problems with students sharing? Sounds like they were engaged, but it's too bad they didn’t listen to each other’s rhythms. I know you said that management was an issue. Have you thought about breaking lessons up into two sessions? Or, going over ground rules to help keep students on task? What were the other students doing while students tested out rhythms?

Good description of your procedures.

Sounds like fun to wave a composers wand around.

Although reviewing rhythm was a bit stressful, it sounds like the lesson was engaging and exciting nonetheless. As mentioned, working with one mobi is difficult. I like the proposed solution of having it be a station if centers are set up. That is a great idea!

Good luck as you look at other creative ways to integrate this tool to engage and motivate.

I sounds like your implementation is going great so far! I'm glad that your students were more engaged in the learning process. Somehow it seems like technology has that effect on them. Additionally, I like you idea of using the Mobi View as a station in another lesson. Having a whole group of students try to share one piece of technology is very challenging, so I can see why they were not listening to one another's rhythms. Using it as a station would be a perfect solution for this. Your project sounds like it is going well so far. I am interested to hear how it goes if you use it again as a station!

Great use of a technology. I love your quick resolution to set up centers to combat the problem of not having enough devices for each child. I also love that your students were so anxious to be involved in your assignment that they forgot to interact with other student's work. This would be a good project to use a rubric with and make some of the things you mentioned (not listening to the rhythms of others) part of the assignment. Great implementation.
